Quality Technician Location:
HCB Manufacturing Plant, Vonore Tennessee About HCB HCB Yachts makes the world's largest center console yacht and is the only true luxurious center console yacht on the water. Position Summary:
The Quality Technician is responsible for the daily quality activities associated with a specific production line or area. The position is critical in enabling our company to successfully meet the WIGS (Wildly Important Goals) and individual KPIs. The individual will be an active member of the production team, representing the "front line" of the quality staff. Their daily activities include reviewing and providing feedback to the production team specifically regarding: the status of quality inspections, quality audits, and quality gates. The timeliness and effectiveness of this feedback is a critical step in delivering the level of quality expected by our company and customers.
Job Responsibilities:
Candidate will report directly to the Quality Supervisor Serve as a support group to the Production Team in Managing Quality Data, Inspections, and Audits Support the annual quality department plan, targets, and objectives Aid in implementing HCB Quality Policy and systems Assist in tracking performance (weekly, monthly, quarterly) to specified targets and goals established in annual planning through use of quantitative and qualitative monitors Represent the quality/final finish department during audits as requested by the Quality Supervisor Assist in developing procedures and work instructions used to conduct daily operations of the quality department Identify, report and process conditions that require corrective action by using checklists and testing boat performance on water Lead and participate in corrective action problem solving using a team approach to resolve internal and external issues - addressing the issues at the source of the cause to prevent recurrence Participate in continuous process improvement development Perform weekly cross-functional boat audits Work closely with other departments to help achieve production targets and goals Inspect and confirm supplied parts meet HCB Visual and Functional Standards Other duties as requested by Quality Department Management Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Specifically Excel)
Qualification Requirements:
1-3 years relevant experience in Quality Assurance; QS or ISO experience is a plus. Demonstrated leadership skills. Above average verbal and written communication skills are a must. Boat manufacturing/marine background or experience is preferred Ability to use Tablets and Handheld devices to input quality inspection and auditing information Good mechanical knowledge Working knowledge of PC based software (Word, Excel, etc.) Utilize troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
