Job Summary The Tooling Inspector is responsible for conducting inspections on internal and external tooling, dies, molds, jigs, fixtures, gages, and special machines to ensure they are to specification. Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• (50%) Conduct intricate inspection of tools, dies, molds, jigs, fixtures, gages, and special machines using engineering prints to determine dimensions and tolerance conformance to ensure tool are to specifications and approved for use.
• (30%) Use a variety of complex inspection equipment and tools to perform both visual and dimensional checks to ensure parts are to specification and approved for use.
• (10%) Accurately record inspection results into the Tooling Inspection Record Form.
• (5%) Maintain vendor history log of inspection activity in the appropriate database.
• (5%) Ensure proper maintenance of all inspection equipment in his/her area. Perform additional duties assigned by the Supervisor/Manager.
• Performs other duties as required. Education and Experience Profile
• Must have a minimum of 5 years Quality and Tooling Inspection experience (required). Required Skills
• Must understand complex inspection equipment such as Coordinated Measuring Machine (CMM), height gage, surface plate, comparator, and be able to perform any inspection assignments including true position, and measuring a radius.
• Must be organized and able to satisfactorily complete all assignments with little to no supervision.
• A working knowledge of GD&T and basic computer skills are required.
• Must understand Trigonometry & Geometry.
• Must maintain a working knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC).
• Must be able to perform Tool Proofs, Gage R&R's, & Capability Studies.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

• Must have thorough verbal and written communication skills to accurately describe quality conditions.
• Must be able to effectively communicate with internal and external sources to provide information on inspection results.
