2 4 years of aerospace inspection experience preferred Position Summary A confidential aerospace manufacturing client in Woodinville, WA is seeking an experienced Quality Inspector to support in-process and final inspection activities. This role performs inspections of machined parts, mechanical assemblies, purchased hardware, applied protective coatings, and aerospace components using predetermined methods, inspection plans, blueprints, digital models, diagrams, and customer specifications. The Quality Inspector will use precision measuring equipment to verify product conformity, identify and segregate nonconforming product, and accept or reject parts according to quality requirements. This role also performs hardness and conductivity verification to confirm aerospace components meet mechanical and electrical property requirements. The ideal candidate will have recent aircraft machine shop and final inspection experience, strong GD&T knowledge, blueprint reading ability, and experience using precision measuring tools in a quality-controlled aerospace manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Perform in-process and final inspections of aerospace components, machined parts, mechanical assemblies, purchased hardware, and protective coatings. Use predetermined methods, operations, setups, inspection instruments, and checklists to verify product conformity. Work from blueprints, digital models, diagrams, customer specifications, manufacturing plans, and model-based inspection programs. Perform hardness testing and electrical conductivity measurements on aluminum, steel, and other aerospace alloys. Interpret hardness and conductivity results to verify compliance with engineering specifications. Document findings according to aerospace quality standards, customer requirements, and internal procedures. Use certified inspection equipment to evaluate mechanical and electrical property requirements. Identify, segregate, and document nonconforming product. Disposition internal and supplier rejections according to BQMS requirements. Accept or reject malfunctioning, defective, or nonconforming units, parts, or systems. Monitor and verify quality according to statistical process control or other control procedures as required. Develop inspection plans and provide suggestions related to work holding, cycle time, and continuous improvement. Instruct team members in product conformity practices. Direct and monitor inspection duties of at least one lower-rated inspector, as assigned. Collaborate with quality engineering, manufacturing, and process control teams to maintain material integrity, traceability, and regulatory compliance. Observe and implement Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methods in all job assignments. Follow all safety, quality, inspection, and documentation procedures. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent required. 2 3 years of recent aircraft machine shop and final inspection experience required/preferred. 2 4 years of aerospace inspection experience preferred. Strong understanding of GD&T methods per
ASME Y14.5.
Ability to determine correct elevations, cross sections, and detail views from drawings or models. High proficiency in blueprint reading. Strong manufacturing and inspection-related math skills. Extensive knowledge of common inspection measuring equipment. Experience performing hardness and conductivity testing preferred. Very good manual dexterity and ability to use precision measuring tools. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Understanding of Syteline, ESI, or other ERP systems. Working knowledge of quality-specific software preferred. Ability to read, follow, and interpret planning documents and work order instructions. Ability to professionally communicate and work cooperatively with others. Strong attention to detail. Basic English language skills. Willingness to learn, receive training, and train others as required. Inspection Tools & Equipment Experience Candidates should have experience with common inspection measuring equipment, including: Surface plates. Micrometers. Height gauges. Radius gauges. Quality-specific software. Preferred Qualifications Aerospace or aircraft machine shop inspection experience. Final inspection experience. Experience inspecting machined aerospace components. Experience with AS9100, NADCAP, BQMS, or customer-specific aerospace quality requirements. Experience identifying, documenting, segregating, and dispositioning nonconforming product. Experience developing inspection plans. Experience training or guiding lower-level inspectors. Experience using Syteline, ESI, ERP systems, or quality-specific software. Experience working with quality engineering, manufacturing, and process control teams. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, reach, and perform inspection tasks throughout the shift. Ability to use hands and fingers to handle parts, inspection tools, measuring devices, and documentation. Good manual dexterity and visual attention to detail. Ability to work around machined parts, aerospace assemblies, inspection equipment, production areas, and quality lab environments. Ability to wear required PPE and follow all safety procedures. Ideal Candidate Profile The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented aerospace quality inspector with strong final inspection experience, GD&T knowledge, blueprint reading ability, and hands-on experience using precision measuring tools. This person should be comfortable inspecting machined parts and assemblies, performing hardness and conductivity verification, documenting results, identifying nonconforming product, and communicating clearly with quality and production teams.
