Job Description

Entry-Level Quality Technician Job Summary The Entry-Level Quality Technician supports the manufacturing of industrial refrigeration systems and chillers by ensuring products meet company quality standards, engineering specifications, and customer requirements. This position performs inspections throughout the manufacturing process, identifies quality concerns, documents findings, and works closely with production teams to maintain high standards of workmanship and product reliability. This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in building a career in quality assurance within a manufacturing environment. Training will be provided. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform in-process and final inspections of chiller assemblies, components, and finished equipment. Verify that fabricated, mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration assemblies conform specifications and work instructions. Use precision measuring equipment such as calipers, tape measures, micrometers, and other inspection tools to verify dimensions and tolerances. Conduct visual inspections for weld quality, paint finish, component installation, labeling, wiring, piping, and overall workmanship. Document inspection results accurately using quality forms, inspection reports, and electronic systems. Identify, document, and communicate nonconforming materials or assemblies. Work with production, engineering, and purchasing teams to resolve quality concerns and support corrective actions. Verify that purchased components meet company specifications before being released to production. Assist with final quality audits prior to equipment shipment. Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on product quality, manufacturing processes, and customer satisfaction. Maintain inspection equipment and ensure measuring devices remain calibrated. Follow all company safety policies and quality procedures. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Previous manufacturing, mechanical, assembly, or quality experience is preferred but not required. Ability to read and follow work instructions. Basic math and computer skills. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Good communication and teamwork abilities. Willingness to learn manufacturing processes and quality inspection techniques. Preferred Qualifications Experience reading mechanical or electrical drawings. Familiarity with measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges. Basic understanding of refrigeration systems, piping, electrical assemblies, or HVAC equipment. Knowledge of quality management systems such as
ISO 9001
is a plus. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk throughout the workday. Ability to lift up to 40 pounds occasionally. Frequent bending, reaching, and use of hands for inspection activities. Visual ability to identify defects and verify product quality. Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment around moving equipment and overhead cranes. The work environment includes exposure to machinery, welding operations, electrical assembly areas, and moderate noise levels. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is required and provided.
Pay:
$18.00 - $20.00 per hour Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
