Wastewater Plant Operator Pay:

$19.00- $22.00 per hour DOE Plant Operations • Process Control • NM Level 1 Certification Preferred On-call shifts required — must be able to respond to call-ins within 60 minutes. Weekend and holiday availability required. We're looking for a reliable Water/Wastewater Plant Operator to operate and maintain treatment facilities, monitor equipment, collect samples, and perform routine laboratory tests. You'll control flow and treatment processes, maintain accurate shift logs, and respond to on-call situations promptly. This is a hands-on utility operations role with opportunities to grow your skills and certifications. What you'll do Operate treatment facilities to control flow and processing of wastewater, sludge, and effluentOperate valves, gates, pumps, engines, and generators manually or by remote control to adjust flow and treatment processesMonitor gauges, meters, and control panels; observe and report abnormalities to supervisorMaintain shift logs and record meter and gauge readingsCollect samples and perform routine laboratory tests and analysesPerform routine maintenance, equipment servicing, and custodial dutiesRespond to on-call callouts within 60 minutes; work weekends and holidays as requiredPerform other related duties as assigned What you need High school diploma or GEDValid driver's licenseGeneral computer knowledgeAbility and willingness to work on-call shifts and respond within 60 minutesAvailability to work weekends and holidays Nice to have New Mexico Level 1 certification in Water and/or Wastewater — or ability to obtain within 1 year2+ years of experience operating water and/or wastewater treatment plantsKnowledge of engines, pumps, related equipment, and basic biological/chemical principlesAbility to enter data into spreadsheets and data management systems
