Overview Horizontal Drilling Services LLC (HDS) is a Texas based underground construction company with a strong reputation for quality workmanship, dependable project execution, and customer satisfaction. Our experienced team has built a successful business around underground infrastructure and challenging field conditions. As HDS continues to expand our capabilities, we are adding water and sewer utility construction to our operations. We are currently seeking an experienced Water & Sewer Construction Supervisor / Foreman to lead a field crew on a major new data-center infrastructure project in Granbury, Texas . This is an important role within our growing utility construction division. We are looking for someone who understands underground utility work, knows how to manage a crew, and takes ownership of the work from start to finish. The Water & Sewer Construction Supervisor / Foreman will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision and direction of an underground utility crew installing water and sanitary sewer infrastructure . The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with underground utility construction and previous experience leading a crew as a Foreman, Utility Foreman, Superintendent, or Construction Supervisor . This person must be able to read plans, understand grades and elevations, coordinate equipment and manpower, maintain production, identify problems in the field, and communicate effectively with project management and inspectors. This is a working supervisory position . We need someone who is comfortable leading from the field, understands the work being performed by the crew, and is willing to step in when necessary to keep the project moving. Duties Supervise and direct a crew performing underground water and sanitary sewer installation Plan and coordinate daily field activities to maintain productivity and project schedule Read and interpret construction plans, specifications, profiles, utility drawings, and details Understand grades, elevations, slopes, and proper pipe installation Direct excavation, trenching, bedding, pipe installation, backfilling, and compaction activities Oversee installation of water mains, sanitary sewer mains, manholes, valves, fittings, and related structures Coordinate operators, laborers, pipe layers, truck drivers, and other crew members Verify proper materials, pipe sizes, fittings, elevations, slopes, and installation methods Coordinate daily activities with project management, general contractors, inspectors, subcontractors, and other trades Identify field conflicts, utility conflicts, design issues, and other potential delays and communicate them promptly Monitor crew productivity and adjust manpower and equipment as needed Maintain daily production, manpower, equipment, and jobsite records Assist with material planning, ordering, and inventory Coordinate and prepare for required inspections and testing Ensure work is performed according to project plans, specifications, and applicable standards Maintain a safe, organized, and productive jobsite Enforce company and project safety requirements Ensure proper trenching and excavation safety procedures are followed Work safely around existing underground utilities Assist with jobsite layout and grade control Communicate project needs and field conditions to HDS management Help identify opportunities to improve productivity and reduce rework Maintain professional relationships with customers, inspectors, subcontractors, and other project personnel Perform other field duties necessary to successfully complete the project Requirements 5+ years of experience in underground utility construction Previous experience as a Foreman, Utility Foreman, Superintendent, or Construction Supervisor Proven experience leading and managing a construction crew Experience installing water mains and sanitary sewer Strong understanding of underground utility installation Ability to read and interpret construction plans and utility drawings Knowledge of excavation, trenching, bedding, pipe installation, backfill, and compaction Understanding of grades, elevations, slopes, and utility profiles Ability to coordinate labor, equipment, materials, and daily production Strong communication and leadership skills Ability to identify and resolve field issues Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions Valid driver's license Reliable transportation to and from the jobsite Ability to pass applicable project/site requirements Preferred Qualifications Experience on large-scale commercial, industrial, municipal, or data-center projects Experience with large-diameter water and sanitary sewer utilities Experience with PVC, HDPE, ductile iron, or other underground utility pipe Experience installing manholes, valves, fittings, and related structures Experience with GPS and/or grade-control equipment OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification Excavation/Trenching Competent Person training Experience working around existing underground utilities Experience coordinating with general contractors, inspectors, engineers, and utility owners Experience working on fast-paced projects with demanding schedules What We're Looking For We are looking for a leader , not simply someone with a job title.
