Job Description

Job Description We are seeking a skilled TIG Welder with experience in purge welding to perform precision welding on tubing and fabricated components. The ideal candidate produces clean, high-quality welds, follows engineering drawings and specifications, and maintains strict quality standards in a precision manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Perform
TIG/GTAW
welding on tubing, assemblies, and fabricated components. Set up and perform purge welding/back purging to protect the internal weld area from oxidation and contamination. Review engineering drawings, blueprints, weld symbols, instructions, or samples to ensure accurate production. Prepare, fit, and align tubing and components prior to welding. Set appropriate welding parameters, including amperage, gas flow, tungsten, and filler material. Maintain proper shielding and purge gas coverage throughout the welding process. Produce clean, consistent welds while controlling heat input, penetration, and distortion. Inspect completed welds for quality, appearance, penetration, discoloration, porosity, undercut, and other defects. Use precision measuring and inspection tools to verify finished parts meet specifications. Maintain clean materials, tooling, fixtures, and work surfaces to prevent contamination. Maintain welding equipment and perform routine equipment checks. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area. Collaborate with team members to accomplish production goals and related tasks. Required Qualifications & Skills Proficient in
TIG/GTAW
welding techniques. Experience with purge welding/back purging . Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, dimensions, and weld symbols. Strong understanding of proper shielding gas and purge gas techniques. Ability to produce consistent, high-quality welds on precision components. Strong mechanical aptitude with excellent hand-eye coordination. Strong attention to detail, precision, cleanliness, and safety. Familiarity with metals, welding processes, and fabrication techniques. Ability to use precision measuring and inspection equipment. Solid written and verbal communication skills. Specialized Experience Purge Welding Set up purge systems for tubing and welded assemblies. Establish and maintain proper purge gas flow to minimize internal oxidation and contamination. Monitor purge conditions throughout the welding process. Produce welds with proper penetration and acceptable internal and external appearance. Recognize and correct weld quality issues related to inadequate purging, contamination, heat input, or gas coverage. Precision Tube Welding TIG weld stainless steel and other applicable tubing materials. Fit and align tubing and components while maintaining dimensional requirements. Perform precision welding on thin-wall tubing and fabricated assemblies. Minimize distortion and maintain part geometry during welding. Inspect finished welds and assemblies for conformance to customer requirements. Education & Experience Requirements Previous
TIG/GTAW
welding experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment. Previous purge welding experience required . Experience welding stainless steel tubing preferred. Experience with thin-wall and precision tubing preferred. Experience using precision measuring devices such as calipers, gauges, and other inspection equipment. Knowledge of safety protocols in a manufacturing environment. Experience with tube bending, fabrication, and sheet metal is a plus. Experience working with components for the semiconductor, aerospace, medical, or other high-precision industries is a plus.
Pay:
$28.00 - $35.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
