Job Title :
TIG Welder - Hoosier Tank and Manufacturing Reports to:
Shift Supervisor FLSA Status:
NON-EXEMPT
Schedule:
Monday through Thursday (6:00am - 4:30pm); extended hours may be required to support business needs Must pass weld skill test Primary duties and responsibilities: This position will follow written instructions with daily route sheets, blueprints of components to be joined-together, and possibly at multiple angles. Measure, and align workpieces using straightedges, clamps, tape measures, protractors, and calipers. Working knowledge of XYZ and LRA coordinates is a plus. Perform GTAW (TIG) and FCAW (Flux-core) welding on a variety of materials, and thicknesses, sizes, and orientations. Inspect welds for accuracy, and consistency. Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements provided. Follow established safety, and quality policies, procedures, and practices. Education, prior work experience and specialized skills and knowledge : Prefer 4-5 years of experience working with MIG, and TIG welding. Position requires good mathematical abilities, strong time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Position requires the ability to operate precision measuring devices such as tape Measures, Calipers, Protractors, Micrometers, and other various measuring tools. Must have experience with Grinders, Buffers, and other hand-held tools. Experience with selecting the correct Torch tips, filler rods, and flux according to material thickness. Must be able to read blueprints and use engineering print layouts. Must have experience using Weld fixtures, and/or Jigs for aligning workpieces prior to welding. Must be capable of safe operation of gas, and non-gas welding equipment in accordance with safety guidelines. Experience reading and understanding weld symbols on blueprints. Some safety equipment must be worn when working on or around equipment in the shop. Bending, lifting, and pushing up to 40 lbs. is required.
Physical environment/work conditions:
The position is in the factory and could involve sitting, standing, walking and lifting for long periods of time throughout the day. Other (e.g., customer contact or access to confidential information): This position works in a production environment. The position will report directly to the Production supervisor and will have daily interaction with other team members.
