Assembly Shell Welder PTMW, Inc. - 2.8 Topeka, KS Job Details Full-time 1 day ago Qualifications Measuring tapes Shop math High school diploma or GED American Welding Society (AWS) standards Dimensional measurements Gas metal arc welding Hand tools Flux-cored welding Full Job Description We are looking for a self-motivated, quality-minded, highly skilled Welder to join our Assembly team. In this position, welders work on the shell assembly of custom sheet steel enclosures. PTMW welders are expected to safely complete each job within specific deadlines to ensure we meet our customers' needs. Key Responsibilities Interpret and follow proper welding procedures and welding symbols on drawings. Use calibrated measuring tools (measuring tapes, squares, etc.) to properly fit up assemblies. Utilize industry tools and equipment. Hand, pneumatic, electric, and battery powered tools. Plasma cutters, oxyacetylene torches, and carbon air arc. Weld parts in various positions, processes (GMAW, FCAW, and GTAW), and materials (Steel, Aluminum, and Stainless Steel). Clean and maintain equipment and work area. Follow all safety guidelines and procedures. Assist in other areas of production as needed or as assigned. Required High School Diploma or Equivalent. Technical Certificate or Degree in Welding preferred Successful candidates must be able to pass the D1.3 weld certification as part of their pre-hire assessment. 1+ year of welding experience Experience in various welding processes (GMAW, FCAW, GTAW) Working knowledge of industry tools and equipment Proficient in basic math and able to read tape measures Able to pass visual and bend tests in various processes and positions on various materials Capable of lifting up to 100lbs Ability to pass pre-employment background check, drug screen, physical capacity test and breath alcohol test.
