- This role focuses on fabricating tooling components such as tables, dollies, and related structures using MIG welding techniques. You interpret blueprints and sketches, set up and operate welding equipment, and ensure high-quality, precise welds that meet production and safety standards.
- Responsibilities
- + Fabricate tooling components, including tables, dollies, and similar structures, using MIG welding processes.
+ Interpret and work from blueprints and sketches to determine dimensions, materials, and welding requirements.
+ Set up MIG welding machines, including loading materials and adjusting settings according to job specifications.
+ Perform accurate and consistent welds to meet quality, durability, and safety standards.
+ Inspect completed welds and fabricated components for defects and make necessary adjustments or repairs.
+ Handle and move materials and components, including lifting items up to 50 lbs as needed for fabrication work.
+ Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all shop safety procedures and guidelines.
+ Collaborate with team members to meet production schedules and support continuous improvement in fabrication processes.
- Essential Skills
- + At least 2 years of MIG welding experience in a fabrication or similar environment.
+ Proficiency in MIG welding techniques for fabricating metal components and assemblies.
+ Ability to interpret and work from blueprints and sketches accurately.
+ Experience with welding machine setup, including loading materials and configuring machine settings.
+ Capability to lift and move up to 50 lbs safely and repeatedly during the workday.
+ Strong attention to detail to ensure precise measurements and high-quality welds.
+ Commitment to following safety procedures in a welding and fabrication shop environment.
- Additional Skills & Qualifications
- + Experience fabricating tooling components such as tables, dollies, and related fixtures. + Ability to troubleshoot basic welding and fabrication issues and make adjustments independently. + Strong work ethic and reliability in a production-oriented setting. + Willingness to support team members and adapt to changing priorities on the shop floor.

- Work Environment
- The role is based in a small fabrication shop with approximately 15 employees, fostering a collaborative and team-oriented atmosphere.
The facility is non-climate controlled, so temperatures may vary with the seasons. This is a first-shift position, Monday through Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with minimal weekend work expected. You work with MIG welding equipment and related fabrication tools in a production-focused environment that emphasizes safety, organization, and quality workmanship.

- This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wichita, KS.
- Pay and Benefits
- The pay range for this position is $25.
00 - $25.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
