Full Job Description Job Summary:
The Welder Fabricator lays out and fabricates metal weldments and assemblies, executes work orders, and processes materials according to specifications. This role uses drawings, specifications, and verbal instructions to plan and complete fabrication work using hand tools, machine tools, and welding equipment while collaborating with other departments, meeting deadlines, documenting progress, and maintaining quality and safety standards.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position does not include formal supervisory responsibilities.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Performs welding using MIG, TIG, stick, and other welding processes as required. Performs structural fit-up using established shop practices and applicable welding procedures. Uses measuring instruments, hand tools, and fabrication machinery appropriate to the task. Reads and interprets blueprints, drawings, work orders, and specifications to complete fabrication assignments. Fabricates products and assemblies while checking work for accuracy and quality. Interfaces with other departments to coordinate work and accomplish production goals. Maintains a clean work area and follows all applicable safety requirements. Document progress, meet deadlines, and moves between projects with minimal supervision. Performs other duties as assigned. Skill in welding, fabrication, and layout work. Ability to use plasma, oxy-fuel equipment, saws, magnetic drills, drill presses, and related tools and equipment. Ability to inspect and verify work using appropriate measurement equipment. Ability to understand and interpret blueprints and drawings. Basic math skills. Ability to communicate professionally, both verbally and in writing.
