Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and motivated Pipe Welder to join our dynamic fabrication and construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for executing precise welding tasks on various piping systems, ensuring all work meets strict safety standards and quality specifications. Your expertise will contribute to the successful completion of complex projects, from installation to assembly, across construction sites and fabrication shops. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your welding skills in a fast-paced environment, supporting large-scale infrastructure and mechanical systems. Duties Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication shop drawings to determine welding requirements and procedures. Perform pipe welding using various techniques including Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW or MIG), Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG), and Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW), adhering to AWS standards. Prepare materials by measuring with calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments; cut and shape metal sheets and pipes using plasma cutters, power tools, and machining equipment. Assemble piping systems by fitting, aligning, and welding components in accordance with blueprint specifications and safety protocols. Conduct quality inspections utilizing shop math, measuring instruments, and mechanical knowledge to ensure weld integrity and dimensional accuracy. Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools, verifying safety compliance, and adhering to all safety protocols on construction sites or fabrication shops. Collaborate with team members on fabrication tasks such as ductwork assembly, metal fabrication, and mechanical installation projects. Experience Proven construction site experience with a strong background in pipe welding, metal fabrication, or mechanical fabrication. Hands-on experience with welding techniques including
SMAW, GMAW/MIG, TIG
welding, FCAW, and gas welding methods. Familiarity with interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and mechanical blueprints for accurate assembly and fabrication. Proficiency in using measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, measuring tapes, and other precision tools. Knowledge of safety protocols specific to construction environments involving heavy machinery like cranes; ability to operate power tools safely. Experience working with sheet metal materials in both shop environments and on-site construction projects. Ability to perform basic math calculations related to measurements, angles, weld sizes, and material quantities accurately.
