Job Description
Aluminum MIG/TIG Welder Job Summary We are seeking two Welders to join a growing manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have experience with aluminum MIG and TIG welding , but we are open to considering welders at all skill and experience levels who have a strong welding foundation and are interested in developing their aluminum fabrication skills. This is a hands-on welding and fabrication position involving aluminum components and assemblies in both production and custom fabrication environments. Experienced candidates should be comfortable working independently, while developing welders will be considered based on their overall welding ability, fabrication experience, and willingness to learn. Responsibilities Perform MIG and/or TIG welding on aluminum components and assemblies Complete fabrication work including fitting, welding, grinding, blending, finishing, and assembly Prepare aluminum surfaces and joints for welding Set up and adjust welding equipment and welding parameters Read and work from blueprints, fabrication drawings, and weld symbols Perform fit-up of fabricated components and assemblies Inspect completed welds for quality, appearance, penetration, and dimensional accuracy Identify and correct welding defects and fabrication issues Use grinders, saws, drills, fixtures, cranes, and other fabrication equipment Maintain a safe, clean, and productive work environment Meet production expectations while maintaining quality workmanship Qualifications Previous MIG and/or TIG welding experience Aluminum welding experience strongly preferred Fabrication and fit-up experience preferred Ability to read blueprints and weld symbols preferred Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail Ability to work independently and as part of a team Ability to perform physically demanding manufacturing work Welding certification, technical training, or equivalent hands-on experience is a plus Ideal Experienced Candidate For higher-level candidates, we are especially interested in welders with: 5+ years of professional welding and fabrication experience Strong aluminum MIG (GMAW) and TIG (GTAW) experience Experience welding aluminum sheet, plate, extrusion, and machined components Strong understanding of aluminum weld preparation, heat control, distortion management, and contamination prevention Ability to troubleshoot porosity, cracking, lack of fusion, distortion, and other weld defects Experience with precision fit-up and complex fabricated assemblies
