EXPERIENCED ALUMINUM TIG WELDER / FABRICATOR

OPPORTUNITY

Alpha Canvas is looking for the right level of talent for our custom fabrication shop. We will consider a proven, hands-on aluminum TIG welder/fabricator or an experienced candidate capable of stepping into lead responsibilities. This is custom fabrication

•not repetitive production welding. The role and responsibilities will be matched to the candidate's demonstrated skill, judgment, independence, and leadership ability. PAY $25

•35 per hour plus overtime, based on demonstrated aluminum TIG welding and fabrication skill.

SCHEDULE

At least 40 hours per week, generally 7:30 a.m

•4:00 p.m., Monday-Friday; overtime as needed.

LOCATION

On-site fabrication shop in Charlotte, North Carolina.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Read shop drawings, verify dimensions, and flag missing information before fabrication begins. Measure, cut, bend, fit, tack, TIG or MIG weld, assemble, and finish aluminum components and occasional steel. Work with aluminum extrusion, tubing, and plate. Build and use jigs or fixtures and inspect fit, squareness, dimensions, weld quality, and finish. Safely operate saws, brakes, shears, grinders, drills, and related fabrication equipment. Support repair work, prototypes, fabrication improvements, and quality control when assigned. Maintain tools, material control, and a clean, safe work area.

WHAT WE NEED

Demonstrated aluminum TIG welding and custom fabrication skill. Relevant experience is preferred. All exceptional, qualified candidates will be considered. Welding or fabrication certifications are a plus, but not required. Ability to read shop drawings, measure accurately, and hold required dimensions and tolerances. Safe, competent use of common fabrication tools and equipment. Dependable attendance, clear communication, and the ability to work independently and with a small production team. Willingness to complete a brief, job-related weld and fabrication evaluation during the interview process. Candidates with strong experience and leadership ability may be considered for lead-level responsibilities, including helping organize fabrication work, solving fit-up issues, maintaining quality, and supporting other fabricators. Experience in awning, sign, architectural metal, railing, marine, trailer, or other custom aluminum fabrication is especially valuable.
