Family owned and oriented workplace Work and collaborate with a small team who has become one of the best in the industry Use industry-leading technology and the best tools available to ensure success Working in a stable industry with strong growth potential We are proud to offer: Competitive base salary Bonus opportunities Company paid medical Dental and life insurance 401K Excellent training Great family work environment Paid vacation and holiday Job Summary The Welder/Fitter I position is a vital member of the Operations Team contributing to our safety culture, providing high productivity, accurate fit-welds, high quality finish welds, flexibility in assignments, and supporting continuous improvement in the following capacities: Key Responsibilities Include Fit small parts like chutes, brackets, troughs, plate pack parts, scum pipes, some floc parts, guards, some belt conveyor parts, some slide gate parts, supports Using blueprints, tooling, fixturing, fit-weld JMS equipment to proper dimensional arrangements Perform Tig welds on a variety of thicknesses, sizes, and orientations of equipment (mainly 316 and 304 SS) Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements Use basic hand tools such as tape measure, level, square, etc. Required Qualifications Fit small parts like chutes, brackets, troughs, plate pack parts, scum pipes, some floc parts, guards, some belt conveyor parts, some slide gate parts, supports Using blueprints, tooling, fixturing, fit-weld JMS equipment to proper dimensional arrangements Perform Tig welds on a variety of thicknesses, sizes, and orientations of equipment (mainly 316 and 304 SS) Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements Use basic hand tools such as tape measure, level, square, etc. Desired Experience and Skills Knowledge of fabrication processes such as bending, punching, welding, etc Read tape measure Perform mathematical calculations required for fabrication Understand and comfortable adding and subtracting fractions and decimals Basic tool and shop knowledge Education High School Diploma or GED equivalent Jim Myers & Sons is an Equal Opportunity Employer
