Overview:

Reporting to the 2nd Shift Production Supervisor, a 2nd Shift Welder is responsible for manufacturing, fabricating, and welding of sheet and steel components through the interpretation of blueprints under the direction of the shift supervisor. It is essential the 2nd Shift Welder promote a safe and efficient work environment while embracing a continuous improvement culture. Essential duties include, but not limited to: MIG welding steel components in accordance with weld procedures, techniques, and guidelines. Set up components for welding according to specifications. Fabricate and assemble metal structures and equipment using welders, cutters, shapers, and measuring tools. Inspect welds for accuracy and quality. Interpreting blueprints to layout, measure, mark and assemble products. Fastening, mounting, and assembling of small steel structures according to blueprints. Assist co-workers and the department supervisor in meeting production targets. Communicates effectively with team and office staff. Maintain a healthy, safe, and clean work area. Take on other duties as needed to help company meet goals. Possible other duties include, but not limited to: Operating machinery such as ironworkers and saws. Moving materials through the operation of cranes, forklifts and/or pallet jacks. Participating in training and other forms of development to strengthen technical skills.

Ideal Candidate:

2 or more years of experience MIG welding and fabrication in structural steel. Ability to read and work from blueprints. Ability to read tape measure up to 16ths. Ability to work independently and efficiently. Be able to lift and carry objects (up to 50 pounds) Demonstrates safe and ethical behavior at all times. Motivated and team orientated individual.
