POSITION SUMMARY
American Engineering & Metalworking (AEM) has an immediate opportunity for a full-time, 1st Shift Welder/Fitter/Metal Fabricator. This is a position geared with opportunity for growth. Successful candidates must be versatile and able to work in various areas of the shop floor to learn and address our production needs. The ideal candidate will be experienced in metal fabrication and mechanically inclined to contribute to our success. Training will be provided to bolster your previous experience.
Responsibilities:
Set up and operate MIG and TIG welding equipment. Inspect parts per print, complete work in process inspections, fill out inspection reports as needed. Work from blueprints, engineering specifications and production schedules. Meet safety, quality, and productivity expectations. Layout parts and projects for fabrication based upon engineering drawings.
Job Requirements:
2 years of welding experience. In lieu of experience, a combination of education and work experience may be considered. Experience in a metal manufacturing facility. Prior experience with all metals and thicknesses. Must be able to lift at least 30-50 lbs. Must be able to work on your feet for a complete shift. Ability to read engineering drawings, blueprints, height gauges, dial & digital calipers. Fit-up, TIG, Spot and Robotic Welding experience would be a plus. Familiarity with finishing equipment such as sanders and grinders. Experience with set up, loading, programming and operation of Fanuc robotics welding system. Pulsed MIG welding experience. Fixture building experience. Able to work overtime/Saturdays as needed.
