Fridays Who We Are:
Opti Staffing is hiring experienced Welder/Fitters for a full-time opportunity with a busy structural steel fabrication operation. This is a great opportunity for welders looking for long-term work where they can put their welding and fabrication skills to use. There are two skill levels available—Class A and Class B—with pay based on experience and demonstrated ability.
What You'll Do:
Weld, cut, and fabricate structural steel components and assemblies. Lay out, mark, cut, saw, drill, punch, bolt, weld, and assemble steel components. Work with bars, I-beams, channels, angles, tees, plates, and other structural steel members. Perform FCAW, SMAW, and GMAW welding. Weld components in flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions. Read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, weld symbols, and WPS documentation. Use torches, plasma cutters, and air arc equipment. Inspect work for quality, accuracy, and adherence to specifications. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Work as part of a team while following direction from the Shop Foreman. What's In It for

Have:
At least 5 years of welding experience Proficiency with FCAW, SMAW, and GMAW Structural steel welding and fabrication experience Experience working with WPS procedures Experience with heating and burning processes, including torches and plasma Ability to understand basic weld symbols Ability to read and interpret drawings Strong communication and teamwork skills Reliable attendance and punctuality Commitment to maintaining a safe and clean work environment
The Musts:
Must be proficient with FCAW, SMAW, and GMAW Must have structural steel fabrication experience Must be comfortable welding in multiple positions Must be able to read drawings and weld symbols Must be able to properly use air arc/gouging equipment Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Must be able to work safely and follow company safety policies Must report to work in a drug-free state
Preferred:
Class A:
Able to produce quality welds in at least 3 positions and 3 processes Able to work with minimal supervision Able to maintain a weld failure rate of less than 3% on fillet and groove welds
Class B:
Able to produce acceptable fillet and groove welds using FCAW, SMAW, and GMAW Comfortable welding in flat and horizontal positions Able to produce acceptable vertical fillet welds on non-code work
