Job Description
Aerotek is hiring a 1st Shift Welder and Fabricator in Bethlehem, PA! Job Description This role focuses on the customization, fabrication, and installation of aerial lifts and truck bodies within a heavy manufacturing environment. You will read and interpret blueprints, follow detailed work instructions, and perform high-quality MIG welding to ensure the durability and structural integrity of vehicle-mounted aerial equipment. The position operates Monday through Friday (6:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday with overtime on Fridays), with the expectation that you are comfortable working a second shift in the future. You will also support preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities on industrial machinery and equipment as operational needs arise. Responsibilities Weld metal components and assemblies using MIG welding techniques to meet structural and quality specifications. Read and interpret blueprints, process routings, and schematics to accurately install truck body components and related assemblies. Construct and fabricate parts according to specifications using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment. Identify, request, and requisition parts and materials required for fabrication or repair work. Inspect and evaluate welds to ensure conformance to specifications, safety standards, and overall quality requirements. Use hand and power tools safely and effectively to complete fabrication, assembly, and repair tasks. Maintain welding tools, equipment, and workstations in proper working condition and in a clean, organized state. Troubleshoot and resolve basic welding and fabrication issues to maintain productivity and product quality. Conduct preventive maintenance on plant machinery, aerial lifts, and facility infrastructure, including routine inspections, lubrication, fluid and filter changes, and replacement of worn components. Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical issues on equipment to reduce downtime and support continuous operations. Provide floater coverage by moving between different shifts, production lines, work cells, or service areas to support staffing gaps, absences, or peak workloads. Collaborate with other departments and flex into additional tasks or areas as production and maintenance needs require. Follow all safety procedures, quality standards, and work instructions while contributing to a safe and efficient work environment. Perform all other related duties as assigned to support production, maintenance, and continuous improvement initiatives. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bethlehem, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
