Job Description

Graywolf is seeking experienced Tank Welders at our Catawba, SC Project. Summary:
The Tank Welder is responsible for performing welding and grinding functions per job specifications. Selects equipment and plans layout and assembly of welding. Works closely and interacts with supervision. Works with precise limits and standards of accuracy.
Essential Duties:
Assembles and fits to drawing dimensions of all kinds of structural, plate and mechanical materials into all types of assemblies. Efficiently produce quality welds and performs fitter tasks using various positions and metallurgy. Perform or assist with fit‐up and preparation of welds. Perform or assist with post weld cleanup, inspection, and repair. Communicate regularly with the Field Foreman with regard to issues and concerns. Perform all other job-related duties as requested by supervision.
Qualifications:
Must have at least 3 years of prior tank welding/fitting experience. Must be able to communicate effectively and accurately with employees and customers. Must be able to successfully pass required Weld Testing FCAW as determined by CWI/Quality Assurance. 2G Horizontal, 3G vertical uphill, and 4G overhead on carbon steel plate without backing. Weld testing will be coordinated with off site facility locations. Must be able to successfully complete all required pre-hire requirements.
Physical/Site Requirements:
Lift and carry heavy items weighing up to 45 pounds. Move in and around confined and cluttered places, and uneven areas. Full range of motion and flexibility consistent with age. Work up to a 12-hour shift in varying temperature extremes and other outside conditions. Climb and maintain balance on steel framework, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds. PPE footwear/prescription safety glasses or eye shields required. Soft welding hoods are not permitted. Graywolf Integrated Construction Company is an equal opportunity employer.
