General Position Summary:
The Armor Operator is responsible for setting up and running all armor products, including wire, strap, and continuous welded armors. The Armor Operator is also responsible for producing a quality product in a safe and efficient manner while promoting a team atmosphere. This position is responsible for problem solving and proactively seeking ways to improve the Armoring process. In addition, the Armor Operator is responsible for maintaining all equipment in the Armor Work Center.Essential Duties:
Continually strive to achieve continuous improvement in all activities, processes, and with all projects at Dekoron. Understands control panels and/or control knobs Can read and understand work order packets to determine customer/work order requirements Displays the ability to make Wire Armor and Strap Armor in-process repairs Demonstrate the ability to use mig & torch welders, mechanical pressure welder, and electronic welder. Ability to set up and operate a spark tester Ability to make Wire Armor and Strap Armor in process repairs Understand the proper way of using hoist when lifting/loading Strap Armor Demonstrate the ability to use mig & torch welder- Strap Armor Demonstrate the ability to use Mechanical pressure welder
- Alum. Strap Armor Demonstrate the ability to use Electronic Welder
- Strap Armor/Wire Armor Understand the proper procedures for returning unused materials Understanding and knowledge of when to report unusual condition, defective material or equipment to a supervisor in a timely manner.
Education and Experience Preferred:
High School diploma or education or GED, required Technical training, preferred Licenses or certifications are not required for this position Experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting with responsibilities in the area of extrusion is preferred, but not required.Knowledge and Skills Preferred:
