Job Description
Mission-driven non-profit organization dedicated to advocating for small businesses and fostering meaningful engagement with community leaders, organizations, policymakers, and the public. We are seeking a friendly, fearless, confident, and articulate Project Advocate who is passionate about building relationships, advancing our mission, and making a positive impact. Position Overview The Project Advocate serves as a key representative of our organization, communicating our mission, goals, strategies, and initiatives to a wide range of stakeholders. This role requires excellent communication, networking, and writing skills, along with the ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with organizations, media contacts, public interest groups, and government representatives. Key Responsibilities Represent the organization professionally and communicate our mission, goals, strategies, and initiatives with confidence and clarity. Build and maintain positive relationships with women's organizations, small business groups, media contacts, community organizations, and government representatives. Conduct outreach through email, phone, and networking to promote advocacy efforts and strengthen partnerships. Draft engaging content for social media, articles, newsletters, and press releases. Respond promptly and professionally to inquiries from organizations, stakeholders, and the public. Support advocacy campaigns and special projects as assigned. Perform other duties as needed to support organizational objectives. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field; or a minimum of two years of relevant professional experience. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong networking and relationship-building abilities with organizations, media, and community stakeholders. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and other standard business software. Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities.
