This is a flexible, community-based position for someone who is comfortable meeting people where they are, developing relationships with community organizations, and helping individuals access treatment when they are ready for support. Position Responsibilities The Community Outreach Recruiter / Liaison will: Conduct outreach at homeless encampments, shelters, drop-in centers, community resource centers, and other locations where individuals may benefit from substance use disorder services. Engage respectfully with individuals experiencing substance use, homelessness, and other barriers to treatment. Educate potential clients about R-Recovery Services, available programming, and how to begin the admission process. Develop and maintain referral relationships with detoxification programs, treatment centers, shelters, hospitals, social service agencies, corrections/probation partners, churches, and other community organizations. Regularly communicate with referral partners regarding available services and openings at R-Recovery Services. Identify new community outreach and referral opportunities. Distribute program information and outreach materials throughout the community. Assist interested individuals with connecting to R-Recovery Services for screening, assessment, and admission. Possibly transport to programming if someone is ready. Maintain appropriate records of outreach activities, contacts, referrals, and community partnerships. Communicate regularly with R-Recovery Services staff regarding prospective clients and referral activity. Help R-Recovery Services maintain a strong community presence and a consistent referral network so treatment capacity remains utilized. Ideal Candidate We are looking for someone who: Is personable, confident, and comfortable approaching and talking with people from many different backgrounds. Has strong communication and relationship-building skills. Is compassionate toward individuals experiencing substance use disorders, homelessness, and other life challenges. Is comfortable working independently in community settings. Is persistent and motivated without using pressure or coercion when discussing treatment. Can build professional relationships with referral sources and community organizations. Is organized and able to follow up consistently with community contacts and prospective referrals. Has reliable transportation and the ability to travel locally for outreach activities. Has experience in substance use treatment, behavioral health, social services, outreach, peer recovery, homelessness services, sales, recruiting, community engagement, or a related area. Relevant lived and/or professional experience is welcomed. Schedule & Compensation This is a part-time, flexible position . Hours may vary depending on outreach opportunities, community events, referral-source availability, and program needs. There is potential for more hours in the future.
