Opportunity for advancement Bonus based on performance Employee discounts Flexible schedule Position Summary The Local Bakery Marketing Lead (LBM Lead) owns local store marketing, community relationships, events, catering and large-order lead generation, donation opportunities, and follow-up. This role builds demand while protecting the brand and ensuring every commitment is operationally achievable. The LBM Lead works closely with bakery operations to turn community activity into measurable sales opportunities and positive long-term relationships. Essential Responsibilities Local Marketing Strategy and Execution- Build and maintain the monthly local marketing calendar aligned with bakery sales goals, brand standards, approved budget, holidays, and peak seasons.
- Lead local outreach, community partnerships, catering and large-order lead generation, and in-market promotional activity.
- Coordinate in-bakery marketing, signage, promotions, and guest-facing messages with the Bakery Manager and Multi-Unit Leader.
- Track marketing activity, leads, sales contribution, follow-up, and return on investment; recommend adjustments based on results. Events, Catering, and Community Relationships
- Own event planning, community relationships, lead capture, and post-event follow-up for approved activities.
- Qualify catering and large-order opportunities, communicate requirements early, and maintain accurate visibility into dates, quantities, product needs, staffing, setup, and fulfillment expectations.
- Coordinate complex events with the Multi-Unit Leader and Bakery Manager to confirm operational feasibility and readiness.
- Represent the bakery professionally at community activities and ensure event presentation and food-safety expectations are met. Donations and Local Partnerships
- Lead community donation opportunities and relationship development within the approved strategy and monthly budget.
- Coordinate approved requests, product needs, pickup or event logistics, and follow-up with bakery operations.
- Assess community value and relationship potential; escalate large, recurring, high-cost, or brand-sensitive commitments before approval. Cross-Functional Communication and Readiness
- Provide timely event, promotional, large-order, and seasonal demand information so the Bakery Manager can plan forecasts, production, ordering, staffing, and prep.
- Participate in marketing/event portions of operating meetings and close assigned action items by the agreed deadline.
- Provide feedback on team members who support events or marketing and deliver marketing- or event-specific training as assigned.
- Support recruiting and development for community-facing or event-support roles when needed. Decision Rights and Approvals
- Execute approved local marketing plans, promotions, partnerships, donations, and events within written brand, budget, and authority limits.
- Recommend local opportunities, campaign changes, event participation, donation relationships, and marketing investments based on expected business and community impact.
- Coordinate event and large-order requirements, but do not commit the bakery to staffing, production, pricing, product, or delivery terms until operational feasibility is confirmed.
- Escalate major partnerships, unapproved claims or creative, large or recurring donations, high-cost or complex events, and commitments that carry legal, PR, food-safety, capacity, or brand risk.
Approval limits:
Refunds, discounts/comps, donations, marketing spend, maintenance spend, and event commitments must remain within written company limits and approved budgets. Escalate exceptions before committing funds or representing the bakery. Weekly:
Review the event and lead pipeline, follow-up status, upcoming production/staffing needs, and sales opportunities with bakery leadership.Monthly:
Present the marketing calendar, campaign/event results, donation activity, lead conversion, ROI, and next-month priorities.Quarterly/seasonal:
Contribute to holiday and peak-season strategy, major partnership planning, and local growth opportunities. Qualifications and Capabilities- Demonstrated strength in local marketing, community outreach, event coordination, sales development, hospitality, or a related customer-facing role.
- Ability to build professional relationships, generate and follow up on leads, and translate marketing activity into measurable business outcomes.
- Strong project management, calendar management, written communication, and attention to operational detail.
- Sound judgment regarding brand representation, budget limits, partner commitments, guest information, and timely escalation.
- Ability to collaborate closely with bakery operations and adjust plans when capacity, staffing, product, food-safety, or guest-experience needs require it. Work Requirements
- Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and off-site events as assigned.
