Product Development Manager (Direct-Hire / Permanent) Are you a passionate, hands-on engineering leader who loves taking innovative products from initial concept to full-scale launch? Our headhunting firm is partnering with a premier, growth-oriented industry leader in premium electro-mechanical equipment to find their next Product Development Manager! If you thrive on solving complex technical challenges, leading cross-functional teams, and working with cutting-edge commercial technology, this full-time, direct-hire role is your next career defining move. What You'll Do As the Product Development Manager reporting directly to the Director of Operations, you will drive product innovation, quality, and technical excellence across international and domestic lines.
Lead & Innovate:
Manage and mentor a talented Product Development team of 3, fostering a collaborative, high-performance environment.
Global Product Strategy:
Partner with domestic and international vendors/engineering firms to research new technologies, design concepts, and state-of-the-art manufacturing processes.
Prototyping & Testing:
Design, build, and test prototypes while building robust lab testing procedures.
Certifications & Compliance:
Serve as the resident subject-matter expert on safety certifications, lab testing standards, and compliance (including fire codes, Prop 65, and patents).
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Partner closely with Marketing and Sales to launch new products, approve samples, deliver custom technical specs, and drive seamless go-to-market strategies.
What We're Looking For Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
Experience:
5+ years of engineering/product development experience, ideally within manufacturing, electro-mechanical appliances, or commercial equipment environments.
Technical Skills:
Strong background in design, quality control, electro-mechanical testing, safety certifications, and CAD/Solidworks exposure.
Leadership:
Proven ability to manage timelines, budgets, multi-stage projects, and direct reports.
Mobility:
