Ironside Press
Social Media Strategist
Job Description
This is not a posting job. You own the social department. You write the strategy, shoot the photography and video, cut it, run the paid campaigns, and sit across from the account owner and explain what happened and why. About nine to ten accounts at full capacity. When the book of work outgrows one person, you hire the next seat and lead it. Since 1989, Ironside has been the marketing partner local businesses actually keep. Print, mail, brand, design, web, and video under one roof in downtown Vero Beach — studio, grip truck, press, and bindery included. Social is the next department we are building for real, and this is the person who builds it. What the work actually is Our social product is already written. Clients do not buy "posts." They buy an account built around one customer action: Follow, Visit, Book, Buy, Support, or Apply. You will run that system — Social Blueprint, Launch, a Reach / Retain / Convert content mix, quarterly capture, monthly reporting — and make it better. Write the strategy for each account against a defined customer action, then defend it to the owner. Run content capture days on client sites: restaurants mid-service, roofing jobs in August, showrooms with bad light. You direct, shoot, light, and record sound. Support is available from the video team when you need it. You should not need it every time. Leave a single day with enough usable video and stills to carry an account for one to three months. Multiple setups, multiple subjects, in one visit. Shoot photography at a quality we can also use in print, on the website, and in ads — product, food, crew portraits, location, before-and-afters. Edit vertical video with clean audio. Roughly 80% of what we produce. Color and finish your own stills. Build and maintain a content library and a 90-day calendar for each client. Engage on the account around every post. Comments, messages, time in the lane. This is the part most agencies skip, and it is what decides how far a post travels. Build, launch, and manage paid campaigns in Meta Ads Manager and TikTok. Objectives, audiences, budget pacing, creative testing, cost per result — not boosted posts. Recommend spend honestly, including when organic will not get the client where they want to go. Report monthly in plain

the handful of numbers that match the goal, what moved them, and what changes next. Use AI as part of how you work. We run on Claude. It drafts, researches, and pressure-tests. It does not hold the camera and it does not sit with the client. Who this is for Five-plus years running social accounts professionally — agency, in-house, or on your own. We care what the accounts did, not what your title was. Real experience in this market valuable. You have lived on the Treasure Coast and worked with businesses here. You know what season does to a restaurant's calendar and a contractor's pipeline. Hands-on paid social. You have built campaigns in Ads Manager, managed real budgets, and been accountable for cost per result. You are a photographer and a videographer, not a phone-only shooter. DSLR or mirrorless and iPhone, and you know when each is the right call. Exposure, lighting, composition. Real audio — lavs, a shotgun, a recorder. You can shoot a full day alone and come back with volume. No second shooter. This is the single hardest part of the job. You edit your own work, video and stills. Working experience with Claude — actual use in real work, not curiosity. You also know where it stops. Comfortable in Claude, Photoshop, Lightroom, Canva, and Figma. Strong in at least a few of them. You can get a natural ninety seconds out of a plumber who does not want to be on camera. You will tell a client when the thing they asked for will not work. Organized enough for nine accounts at once: capture calendars, libraries, posting schedules, campaign checks, reporting. Nothing slips quietly. Meta Business Suite, Instagram, Facebook. Working knowledge of TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, and Nextdoor. Valid license. Capture days happen across Indian River County. What this job is not Not remote. Not hybrid. The work is on client sites and in the shop. Not strategy-only. You will be on a job site with a camera, then back at a desk cutting the footage. Not a junior content role and not a community-manager seat. Not a place to hide behind a team. What you get $65,000 - $85,000 base, depending on experience. Health benefits and paid time off. Equipment provided. A finished product to sell against — Blueprint, Launch, and five service tiers — so you are not inventing the offer from scratch. A full creative shop down the hall: brand, design, web, video, print. When an account needs a landing page or an ad campaign, it is not a vendor quote. It is a walk. The chance to build the department you would want to run. How to apply Send the following. 1. Three accounts you have run. Handles or links.A few sentences each:
what the business needed, what you built, what it produced. 2. Two vertical videos and five photographs, all shot and edited by you. Not a highlight reel — individual pieces, with a line about what you were working around. At least one video should have someone talking, so we can hear your audio. 3. One paid campaign you managed. Objective, spend, and what it returned. 4. One short answer, under a page, in your own words: A Vero Beach home-services contractor comes to us. Forty years in business, great reputation, almost no online presence. Booked solid through season, phone goes quiet in July. What does his social account need to do, and what would you build? 5. A few sentences on how you use AI. What you use it for, and one thing you have stopped using it for. We read all of them. We will know if number four was not written by you.
