Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Mazak Machinist to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will operate and program Mazak CNC machines, including CNC lathes and milling machines, to produce precision components that meet strict quality standards. Your expertise in machining, blueprint reading, and technical troubleshooting will ensure efficient production processes. Responsibilities Set up and operate Mazak CNC machines, including programming using CNC programming languages and CAM software. Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and specifications to produce accurate parts. Conduct precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other precision instruments to verify part dimensions. Perform routine maintenance on CNC equipment and troubleshoot issues promptly to minimize downtime. Utilize hand tools, power tools, tooling, and welding equipment as needed for assembly or adjustments. Follow lean manufacturing principles to optimize machining processes and reduce waste. Maintain detailed documentation of machining operations, inspection reports, and quality control records. Qualifications Proven experience operating Mazak CNC lathes and milling machines with a solid understanding of CNC programming (Fanuc controls preferred). Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read complex blueprints and technical drawings accurately. Proficiency in CAD/CAM software such as SolidWorks or similar for part design and programming. Familiarity with electrical discharge machining (EDM) techniques is a plus. Knowledge of plastics injection molding processes is advantageous. Ability to use precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM). Basic math skills for calculations related to machining tolerances and measurements. Experience with tooling setup, fixture alignment, and machine calibration. Ability to work safely with power tools, hand tools, forklifts, and other manufacturing equipment. Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills.
