Job Description

The Orthopedic Center has been serving Brevard County for over 20 years. We pride ourselves on providing high-quality, compassionate care in a fast-paced and family-oriented environment. Our team is dedicated to delivering exceptional service and fostering a fun, collaborative workplace culture. We are seeking a Medical Assistant
  • Podiatry for our Palm Bay office to become a part of our team!
The Medical Assistant will be responsible for supporting the physician with a range of clinical and administrative tasks. You will perform routine administrative and clinical assignments to keep the medical office running smoothly. The ideal candidate will have podiatry or orthopedic experience as well as x-ray, a passion for helping others, strong clinical skills, and the ability to thrive in a busy and energetic setting. You will work closely with experienced providers to deliver comprehensive care to our patients.
Responsibilities:
Deliver exceptional care to the patients Performs essential and assigned daily clinical duties Medical History and Medication reconciliation Chart preparation Assist during medical examinations and procedures Clinical intake of patient's complaint and vitals Casting and Splinting and DME Surgery scheduling & coordination Post op care, Suture/Staple removal Clinical patient phone calls and call triage Accurately document patient's health information in system Scribing for provider Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations Maintains strict confidentiality Process prescription refills as directed by physician Treats co-workers, medical providers, patients, and visitors with dignity and respect Preparation, cleaning and stocking of exam rooms. Performs other related duties as needed and assigned Injection & Radiology authorizations FMLA & Disability, DWC (work comp) paperwork
Qualifications:
Previous experience in healthcare, orthopedics or podiatry preferred EMR experience required, ATHENA a plus Must be able to assist provider with podiatry procedures Attentive to detail with excellent customer service skills Excellent time management skills Must be able to multitask in a fast paced environment Strong communication skills BXMO preferred or willingness to obtain Strong organizational skills Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment Must be a team player with a positive attitude
