Position Overview We are seeking a skilled and motivated Medical Gas Service Technician to join our growing team. This field‑based role is ideal for individuals who excel in hands‑on work, problem‑solving, and independent decision‑making. The technician will perform inspections, testing, maintenance, and repairs on medical gas systems while upholding the highest standards of professionalism and customer service. CHT provides paid training for all required certifications. This position involves overnight travel—approximately 80-90%, including out‑of‑state assignments—primarily Monday through Friday.
Please note:
While this role does not require daily reporting to the corporate office, it is a full‑time field position dedicated to on‑site customer service. It is not a remote or work‑from‑home role. Essential Duties Perform inspections, testing, maintenance, and repairs on medical gas systems in accordance with NFPA 99 and all applicable codes. Troubleshoot system issues and provide accurate, effective solutions to ensure safe operation for healthcare facilities. Complete scheduled service calls, emergency responses, and follow‑up visits with efficiency and professionalism. Document all work performed, including inspection findings, repair recommendations, and service reports. Communicate clearly with facility staff, contractors, and internal team members to coordinate work and ensure customer satisfaction. Maintain company tools, equipment, and service vehicle in clean, organized, and safe condition. Uphold all safety protocols and company policies while working independently or as part of a team. Represent the company with a high level of professionalism, integrity, and customer‑focused service. Qualifications Highschool diploma or equivalent. Must be able to obtain professional certifications as needed, including ASSE credentials. (CHT provides paid training for ASSE certifications) Experience in mechanical, electrical, HVAC, or related technical fields preferred. Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills. Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and adapt to changing schedules. Comfortable working in healthcare environments and interacting with clinical staff. Valid driver's license and clean driving record. Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in various environments, including mechanical rooms and above‑ceiling spaces.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the safe and precise use of mechanical hand tools and portable power tools, including measuring instruments, drills, screwdrivers, torque tools, and related equipment.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Teams, for documentation, reporting, and communication.
  • Must have valid COVID Vaccination Documentation / COVID Booster Documentation if required by CDC mandate.
Negative TB tests record/required upon hire. Annual flu shot required, and any vaccines or tests required by our customers.
