Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Medication Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for administering medications and providing essential care to residents in an assisted living settings. This role requires a strong understanding of resident care procedures, and medication management, with a focus on ensuring the safety and well-being of individuals with various health conditions, including dementia, Alzheimer's, and other chronic illnesses. Prior experience in senior care, hospice, or working with individuals with disabilities is highly valued. However we will train the right candidate. Duties Administer prescribed medications accurately following physician orders and established protocols Monitor and record vital signs and patient responses to medication and treatments Assist residents with daily activities such as mobility, hygiene, and nutrition Maintain detailed medical documentation using EMR/EHR systems like Icare Observe and report any adverse reactions or changes in residents' health status Support residents with specialized needs including tube feeding, catheter care, and memory care Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect residents confidentiality Collaborate with nursing staff and healthcare providers to coordinate care plans Assist in maintaining a safe environment by adhering to infection control and safety protocols Requirements Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments preferred Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and medication administration procedures Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia is a plus Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Icare is desirable Ability to work compassionately with seniors and individuals with complex health needs Certification as a Medication Technician (or willingness to obtain) required certification in the state of Maryland Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and ability to follow instructions accurately Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of residents while developing your skills within a supportive healthcare environment.

$18.00 - $20.00 per hour Expected hours: 8 - 40 per week
