Open until filled Position Overview Ruthven/Ayrshire Community School District is seeking a dynamic and student-centered Middle School/High School Social Studies Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will foster a positive learning environment and engage students in meaningful exploration of social studies topics such as history, geography, civics, and global awareness. Responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned to Iowa Core Standards for social studies Create a classroom environment that promotes critical thinking, discussion, and inquiry Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners Integrate technology and real-world connections into instruction Assess and monitor student progress, providing timely feedback Maintain accurate records of student achievement and attendance Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and administration Participate in professional development and school improvement efforts Supervise students in classroom and assigned duties Qualifications Valid Iowa teaching license with appropriate endorsement Strong classroom management and communication skills Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families Knowledge of best instructional practices and student engagement strategies Coaching and/or activity sponsorships available but not required Preferred Qualifications Experience teaching middle school students Familiarity with standards-based grading and instructional technology Ability to contribute to extracurricular programs Equal Opportunity Statement Ruthven/Ayrshire Community School District is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
