Job Summary/Objective:
To promote and adhere to company performance expectations through consistent positive interaction. The Shop Assistant must be able to balance and prioritize work and ensure quality production output. The Shop Assistant reports directly to the Team Leader as assigned by the Director of Operations. This position is based out of the Swanzey, NH location. The Shop Assistant is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the shop and assisting the Installation and Service Department wherever needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Carry out Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) as directed. These KPI's include but may not be limited to:
Duties/Responsibilities:
For day-to-day job-related tasks, the Shop Assistant reports directly to the Shop Team Leader and provides support for all assigned Field Service Generator Technicians. Benefits, disciplinary action and other non day-to-day job-related tasks are overseen by the Director of Operations. Clean and organize the shop and surrounding grounds. Empty waste oil and coolant barrels into the appropriate collection tanks. Maintain rental generator cable organization. Perform daily forklift inspections. Perform generator set-ups and testing. Repair and maintain company equipment as needed. Deliver urgent parts or materials to jobsites as needed. Assist the service technicians with 2-person jobs. Shuttle parts to and retrieve parts from a separate satellite location each week. In a timely manner, complete & submit daily and weekly paperwork such as time sheets, inspection reports and any other necessary paperwork. As directed, operate company vehicle safely and courteously to other drivers. Work cooperatively with others. Serve as a first-line resource for positive vendor/company interaction: Maintain professional appearance and demonstrate professional conduct when dealing with vendors, other team members, and customers. Identify and help support process improvement opportunities/efforts. Participate in meetings, as directed. Report areas of concern to the Director of Operations. Other duties as assigned.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
Technical Capacity. Customer/Client/Team Focus, with the ability to act as an Ambassador of Company Culture. Ability to work and make decisions independently to support the Company's stated goals. Exceptional communication skills. (Written, verbal) Ability to work as part of a team to ensure that customer expectations are met. Ability to work cooperatively across all functional areas, strong interpersonal skills. Technical trouble-shooting and problem-solving skills. Reading and legible writing of the English language is essential for this position. Consistent demonstration of a positive attitude, with the ability to always remain professional and courteous. Must be able to prioritize, organize work, manage time, and work unsupervised. Keen sense of urgency and attention to details. Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced and potentially stressful environment. Licenses Must maintain a valid driver's license and any other required professional licenses. Must attain and maintain valid Medical Examiner's Certification (DOT card)
Work Conditions/Environment:
While in the office, the employee will work in a well-lit environment and will be exposed to low levels of noise, with a temperate climate and may operate office equipment, as needed, or directed. While in the warehouse, the employee will work in a well-lit environment and will be exposed to moderate noise levels, cool, or elevated temperatures, dust, fumes or smells, chemicals, and moving mechanical equipment. While in the field assisting the Installation and Service team, the employee shall be exposed to all types of extreme weather conditions and may operate a vehicle for extended periods of time to reach job sites.

The requirements listed below are representative of the requisite background required to adequately perform the functions of this position. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. This position will require you to stand about 70% of the time. Sit 15% of the time and walk 15% of the time. Must be able to consistently lift up to 100 lbs., (if this is not possible, a request for assistance is required) climb stairs/ladders, repetitive motion of hand/wrist/foot/ankle; work in adverse weather conditions; avoid potentially moving objects which could cause injury; grasp and move objects consistently. Standing, walking, bending, climbing, reaching, pushing, and pulling are also frequently required activities when carrying out the duties of this position. Sitting or standing for extended periods of time, when driving. Good or corrected eyesight (20/40) is required. Fine Motor skills are necessary. Must be able to verbally communicate using the English language. Must be able to hear and use the telephone. Must be able to read and write in the English Language.
Occasionally:
Carry objects up to 100 feet, Kneeling/crawling, Team lifting of up to 200 lbs. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. Hours of work and days will be Monday through Friday 7am to 4pm. Occasional weekend work may be required, as job duties demand. Travel is primarily throughout New England, and is limited to a normal business day, however, some out-of-the-area travel and overnight stay may be expected.
Safety and Health:
At times, and in varying degrees depending upon the specific details of possible contagion exposure- it may be necessary for Powers to follow CDC or other recommended health safety guidelines for the protection of its staff. Should it become necessary to do so, the Customer Support Specialist Team Leader shall ensure that all subordinate staff are following protocol, as directed. Promote a safe working environment. Participation in all emergency evacuation drills is required, which may include the use of strobe lighting and loud sirens. Participate in employee safety training and comply with safety protocol and procedures, as directed.
