Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will assess, plan, and implement personalized therapy programs to help individuals of all ages improve their daily functioning and quality of life. Whether working in inpatient settings, outpatient clinics, schools, or home health environments, you will utilize your expertise to promote independence and facilitate recovery through evidence-based interventions. Your proactive approach and strong communication skills will ensure clients receive comprehensive care tailored to their unique needs. Duties Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical, cognitive, and emotional capabilities to develop individualized care plans. Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including dressing, grooming, feeding, and mobility support. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate discharge planning and ensure seamless transitions across care settings. Work with diverse populations such as children with autism, geriatrics, individuals with disabilities, and those in post-acute care or skilled nursing facilities. Implement therapeutic interventions in various environments including inpatient units, outpatient clinics, schools, and home health visits. Provide education and training to patients, families, and caregivers on adaptive techniques and equipment use. Maintain accurate documentation of patient progress, treatment plans, and case management activities in compliance with healthcare regulations. Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program; licensure or certification as required by state or country. Proven experience working in acute care settings such as ICU or inpatient units; ICU experience is highly valued. Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and functional assessment techniques. Experience working with individuals with autism, disabilities, geriatrics, pediatrics, or in early intervention programs. Skilled in developing care plans that incorporate patient goals and discharge strategies across diverse environments including outpatient clinics and home health. Excellent case management skills with the ability to coordinate multidisciplinary care teams effectively. Familiarity with speech therapy principles is a plus for integrated patient care approaches. Ability to work independently while collaborating within a team-oriented healthcare setting.
