Job Description

We are searching for an Operating Engineer
  • someone who works well in a fast-paced setting.
In this position, perform operations and maintenance activities including, but not limited to: engineering rounds, preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, general maintenance and repairs of hospital equipment and buildings including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems in accordance with departmental, hospital, and regulatory agency codes. Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Monitors equipment, responds to alarms, and emergencies and performs maintenance duties in assigned areas to ensure facility equipment and systems are functioning properly. Monitors all operating equipment and systems (boilers, chillers, AHU's, pumps, air compressors, water heaters, cooling towers, etc.) to ensure they are operating properly and safely at maximum efficiency. Performs engineering rounds and checks equipment for proper operating functionality and performs minor repairs and adjustments as needed. Maintains documentation to accurately record readings on rounds sheets and equipment failures and events in appropriate engineering logs Performs installation and repairs of failed equipment and parts on utility systems according to established standards and within acceptable timeframes. Follows up to ensure equipment is repaired and functioning properly. Provides notification of equipment shutdowns to appropriate leadership and department personnel. Performs corrective maintenance duties including, but no limited to: replacement of ceiling tiles, floor tile, cove base, light fixtures, bulbs, lamps, and door hardware. Responds to all emergencies as required throughout the hospital property. Performs corrective maintenance duties on buildings, building systems, and equipment as assigned according to standards established by management team. Performs preventive maintenance duties on buildings, building systems, and equipment as assigned according to standards established by management team. Demonstrates ownership for responsibilities in assigned zone and other designated areas. Demonstrates accountability for customer service and professional behavior through personal work ethic, teamwork and effective communication skills.
Skills & Requirements:
Required H.S. Diploma or GED 3 years of experience as a service technician. Experience working in a hospital environment preferred. Required Licenses/Certifications (one of below): Associate's Degree or higher in service-related or technology field of study
