General Position Summary:
Provide quality periodics service according to custodial contracts within the division along with providing relief for other personnel within the division when required. Performs all work in a safe manner and meets Garten quality standards.
Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:
Perform periodics services (floor care, windows, etc.) in a manner that meets division standards and maintains customer satisfaction. Provide site coverage in the absence of supervisors and/or employees within Custodial Services.
Secondary Functions:
Provide service for additional/special requests. Coordinates periodics services to meet the contract specifications. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Job Scope:
Performs duties independently with minimal supervision, operates from established practices procedures while contributing to the development of new concepts. Decisions are made within general company policy constraints but may occasionally require independent decision making. This position may be asked to provide input concerning long-range operational planning for the organization. Mistakes/errors can result in rework, thus possibly damaging customer relations or losing a contract.
Interpersonal Contacts:
Has both internal and external contacts. The most common internal contacts are with own department staff and supervisor. The most frequent external contacts are with customers. The types of interactions, for both internal and external contacts, involve problem solving, information exchange, and negotiation. Both internal and external contacts are usually made at the employee's own initiative with 10% of the contacts being over the phone and 90% face to face. All contacts are with internal or external customers. Contacts may occasionally contain some discussion about confidential/sensitive matters.
Specific Job Skills Required:
High degree of attention to detail and customer satisfaction. Proficient knowledge of contracts and quality control essential. Proficient knowledge of chemical interactions as well as stripping and waxing. Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English. Ability to train others, make decisions and use independent judgment. Ability to actively participate in team development and team-oriented processes. Ability to use computer hardware/software. Must pass a criminal history background check. Excellent hand-eye coordination. Ability to bend, twist, stoop, reach overhead, climb stairs, stand, grasp, handle objects, make repetitive motions with hand/wrists/shoulders and operate custodial equipment. Ability to push/pull/lift/carry up to 150 pounds regularly throughout a normal workday. Proficient knowledge of all custodial equipment, including but not limited to buffer, extractors, etc. Valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, and proof of current vehicle insurance id preferred. Experience:
A minimum of 6-12 months experience/training in custodial equipment operation, and using custodial chemicals and supplies. A high school education or equivalent.
Job Conditions:
This position requires the incumbent to work in an environment where there may be building temperature fluctuations, fumes, noise, odors, dust, dirt, poor ventilation, chemicals.
Other working conditions also include:
