Packer

We are recruiting for Packers for a Gladwin manufacturing facility. This is a full-time, temp-hire opportunity after a reliable attendance record and quality work ethic has been demonstrated. Hours are 7:00pm-7:00am ($15/hr) OR 7:00am-7:00pm ($16/hr), 3 days on, 3 days off. This is NOT a swing shift. Responsibilities:

Packers assist machine operators, material handlers, quality control, pallet builders, maintenance, as well as shipping and receiving on the production floor to ensure operations run smoothly and efficiently. Packers are also required to work safely (wear appropriate eye and ear protection at all times while in the shop). Properly wrap, band, and label completed packs for shipping. Complete paperwork for hourly hot and cold checks. Continuously feed scrap material into the grinder. Keep precise counts for the number of parts placed on a pallet or pack. Strictly follow all quality standards as set forth in various work stations. Immediately communicate all quality issues to your supervisor. Maintain a clean and debris-free work area to promote safety. Help others who are in need of assistance. Additional duties may also be assigned from time to time as needed.

Skills & Qualifications:

Must be able to work a 12-hour shift and remain on feet in an often hot environment. Must be able to physically lift, pull, and/or slide bulky plastic sheets up to 50Lbs in a routine manner. Must be able to kneel and crouch as needed during the course of each and every shift. Ability to accurately read a tape measure (to 1/16") and micrometer (.000). Must be at least 18 years of age. Must have reliable transportation in order to demonstrate a reliable attendance record.
