Job Description

Required Knowledge and Abilities:
Ability to provide a variety of hands-on materials, tools, and resources that allow students to explore, design, build, and problem-solve through STEM-based learning activities. Ability to effectively instruct students in STEM curriculum areas (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) in alignment with school and state standards. Ability to create a classroom environment that supports curiosity, collaboration, creativity, and social-emotional growth for all students. Ability to teach in a way that engages students and elicits positive participation, critical thinking, and perseverance. Ability to collaborate closely with school administration and faculty to meet the academic and developmental needs of students. Members of the Catholic faith are preferred, with a willingness to support the mission and values of Catholic education.
Duties Include:
Prepare engaging, standards-aligned STEM lessons that promote inquiry-based learning, experimentation, and real-world application. Design and facilitate hands-on activities, labs, and projects that encourage innovation, problem-solving, and computational thinking. Administer formative and summative assessments to evaluate student progress, record data accurately, and communicate results to parents and administration. Provide targeted academic support and enrichment opportunities for students at varying levels of readiness. Maintain a structured, safe, and positive classroom environment that supports active learning and student responsibility. Model and reinforce organizational habits and lab/classroom procedures that promote safety, respect, and stewardship of materials. Communicate regularly with students and parents regarding academic progress, strengths, and areas for growth. Participate in faculty meetings, professional development sessions, and required school events as scheduled. Encourage students through consistent feedback, praise, and constructive correction to build confidence, resilience, and academic success. Support school initiatives including STEM fairs, enrichment programs, and student recruitment events as needed. Complete special projects during and after school hours as assigned. Follow all policies and procedures outlined in the school's Faculty Handbook, Parent-Student Handbook, and other administrative guidelines. Perform all additional duties as assigned by administration.
Qualifications:
Valid New Jersey Teaching Certification (or eligibility for immediate certification) with demonstrated ability to design engaging, standards-based STEM instruction. Strong classroom management and organizational skills, including the ability to maintain consistent instructional pacing and meet deadlines. Ability to collect, analyze, and use student data to inform instruction and communicate progress clearly to stakeholders. Commitment to the mission of Catholic education and the ability to integrate values of faith, character, and service into STEM instruction.
Pay:
From $20,000.00 per year
