Payroll Services Team Lead

Onsite | Pepper Pike, OH | Full‑Time Encore Funding is looking for a detail‑driven Payroll Services Team Lead to join our Full Service team. The Payroll Services Team Lead will oversee and support Encore Funding's internal payroll processing team, ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely payroll services for a diverse client base. This role combines hands-on payroll expertise with leadership responsibilities, driving operational efficiency while maintaining a strong focus on client satisfaction and team development. What You'll Do Lead and mentor the payroll team, providing guidance, training, and performance support Oversee end-to-end payroll processing for multiple clients across industries Review and validate payroll data including wages, deductions, taxes, and benefits Ensure payroll accuracy, compliance, and on-time delivery Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies and client inquiries Reconcile payroll-related accounts and ensure data integrity Prepare payroll summaries and communicate updates to clients Maintain and improve payroll processes, documentation, and system workflows Support year-end processing including W-2s, 1099s, and compliance reporting Serve as a point of escalation for complex payroll and client issues Collaborate cross-functionally to streamline operations and enhance service delivery What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who is dependable, organized, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced financial environment. 10+ years of payroll processing experience, including multi-state payroll 1-2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience Strong knowledge of payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance requirements Experience with payroll systems such as ADP, Paychex, or similar platforms Advanced Excel skills and strong attention to detail Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Strong problem-solving, organization, and communication skills Certification (CPP or FPC) is a plus Why Encore Funding Encore Funding is an alternative lender that empowers staffing entrepreneurs through fast, flexible funding and deep industry expertise.
