Job Description

Performs as medical actor for educating learners at the Mayo Clinic Multidisciplinary Simulation Center. Portrays various roles ranging from patient and family member to medical personnel. Participates in inpatient and outpatient scenarios for both educational and testing purposes. May also participate in a surgical, ICU, or ER setting. Dependent on course, may be required to provide written and/or oral feedback to learners. May be videotaped in both educational and testing situations. May be asked to appear in educational videos. •Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Also, Mayo Clinic

participate in the
F-1 STEM OPT
extension program. Previous acting experience helpful. Must meet certain clinical demographic specifications depending on case needs. Medical background, including working in PACU or ICU may be required for specific cases. Ability to fluently speak a second language, especially Somali, Arabic or Spanish is a benefit for specific scenarios. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Capable of offering realistic character portrayals. Improvisational and memorization skills beneficial. Receptive to direction and able to effectively implement adjustments. Capable of working well within a team. Must be available to attend additional workshops to meet Mayo compliancy requirements, to be trained in providing both written and oral feedback, and to enhance skills as a Standardized Patient. Individuals capable of portraying the role of a person between ages 16-35 years old may be required in specific scenarios.
