Job Description

Do you have a passion for Jesus, a heart for people, and a gift for leading worship through contemporary music? Vienna Presbyterian Church is seeking a Contemporary Worship Director to lead and grow our contemporary worship ministry with creativity, excellence, and authentic joy. Working closely with the Associate Pastor for Worship, the Contemporary Worship Director will oversee the planning, preparation, and execution of contemporary worship music for weekly services and special programs throughout the church year. This role will provide both musical and spiritual leadership to worship band members and vocalists, while cultivating an environment of excellence, collaboration, growth, and genuine worship. The Contemporary Worship Director will play a key role in developing and mentoring musicians of all ages, also including VPC s youth worship ministry; identifying and incorporating new worship music consistent with VPC s theology and worship vision; coordinating volunteers and professional musicians; and overseeing the resources, equipment, scheduling, and budget associated with the contemporary music ministry.
The ideal candidate will be:
A committed Christian who demonstrates an authentic and growing relationship with Jesus Christ. An accomplished musician and experienced contemporary worship leader. A thoughtful and creative planner with strong organizational and communication skills. A collaborative team member who works effectively with pastoral staff, musicians, volunteers, and the broader congregation. A gifted leader who can develop and encourage both professional and volunteer musicians. Passionate about mentoring emerging and youth worship leaders. Comfortable balancing long-range ministry planning with the practical demands of weekly worship. Proficient in Planning Center and experienced in managing music resources, scheduling, budgets, and equipment. Committed to pursuing continued musical, professional, and spiritual development. A bachelor s degree is preferred. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced contemporary worship leader and musician who can inspire musicians, cultivate a strong sense of team and spiritual community, and help the congregation connect what we sing with why we sing it .
Position Details:
Regular, Part-time (30 hrs/week), non-exempt $38-45/hour depending on qualifications Benefits eligible Hours include Sundays from 6:30am-10:30am; 3:30pm-6:00pm. Will also include occasional evenings and Saturdays as needed for rehearsals and special worship services. Remaining hours can be flexible.
