Berean Baptist Church Philadelphia, PA Job Details Part-time $400 - $600 a week 18 hours ago Qualifications Religious music performance experience Classical worship music conducting Traditional hymn music conducting Hymn music Teaching Full Job Description Berean Baptist Church, a historic African American congregation in North Philadelphia, is seeking a skilled, dependable, and ministry-minded Church Organist to join our Music Ministry. Schedule- Sunday morning worship services
- Saturday weekly choir/music rehearsal
- Special services as scheduled with advance notice We Are Looking for
Someone Who Can:
- Play traditional and contemporary Black church music
- Play hymns, Gospel, praise & worship, and congregational music
- Read sheet music and/or play effectively by ear
- Identify and teach soprano, alto, tenor, and bass vocal parts
- Understand proper voice placement and vocal ranges
- Place songs in the appropriate key for singers and the congregation
- Follow the direction of the Pastor and Music Ministry leadership
- Accompany choirs, praise teams, soloists, and congregational worship
- Provide appropriate music during prayer, offering, invitation, and other worship moments
- Work cooperatively with singers and other musicians
- Arrive prepared, punctual, and professional Preferred Qualifications Experience playing in an African American/Black Baptist church worship setting is strongly preferred.
