Job Description

Category Pharmacy - Staff Pharmacist Job Type Contract An opportunity is available for an experienced Pharmacist to support a 20-bed acute care hospital in a suburban Arizona setting. This role involves the safe, accurate, and efficient distribution of pharmaceutical agents to patients of all ages, hospital staff, and designated areas while adhering to all relevant laws, standards, and hospital policies.
Key Responsibilities:
Dispense medications accurately and safely in compliance with state, federal, DEA laws, and The Joint Commission standards. Collaborate with physicians on drug selection and dosing for optimal patient care. Educate nursing staff, patients, and physicians on medication use and safety. Participate in Medication Safety initiatives to improve patient outcomes. Monitor patient profiles to avoid and report adverse drug reactions. Prepare IV admixtures and nutritional supplements as required. Ensure strict narcotic accountability at all times.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of hospital pharmacy experience, specifically within high-acuity acute care settings. Experience with NICU patients and managing complex cardiac cases, including patients on Impella and ECMO support. Strong knowledge of pharmacy laws, regulations, and best practices. Excellent communication skills for collaboration and education purposes.
Schedule:
Day shifts, Monday through Friday.
