Job Description

Category Pharmacy - Staff Pharmacist Job Type Contract A healthcare facility in a suburban Arizona setting seeks a skilled pharmacist to ensure the safe, accurate, and efficient distribution of medications across a diverse patient population. This contract role offers the opportunity to apply advanced clinical expertise within a 20-bed acute care hospital, serving a range of patients including high-acuity cases.
Location:
Mount Lemmon, AZ (suburban Tucson area)
Schedule:
Day shifts, Monday through
Friday Contract Duration:
Approximately 13 weeks, with potential for temp-to-hire
Key Responsibilities:
Dispense pharmaceuticals in compliance with federal, state, DEA regulations, and hospital policies Collaborate closely with physicians to determine appropriate drug selections and dosing Provide education on medication use to nursing staff, physicians, and patients Participate actively in medication safety initiatives to minimize errors and adverse reactions Manage patient medication profiles and monitor for adverse drug reactions Prepare intravenous admixtures and nutritional supplements accurately Maintain strict narcotic accountability and documentation
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of hospital pharmacy experience in a high-acuity acute care setting Proficiency with NICU-related pharmaceutical care and managing complex cardiac cases, including Impella and ECMO patients Strong knowledge of TJC standards and DEA regulations Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced clinical environment This contract position allows pharmacists with specialized acute care experience to contribute meaningfully to patient safety and care quality within a close-knit clinical team.
