Job Description

Category Therapy - Hospital - PT Job Type Travel Deliver vital therapy services in a hospital-based rehabilitation setting, working directly with patients experiencing critical illnesses to enhance their mobility and quality of life. You will evaluate patients, create individualized treatment plans, and modify therapeutic interventions based on progress and physician direction. Collaboration with an interdisciplinary team and providing direction for discipline-specific therapy services are key components of this role.

Qualifications:
Current and valid Physical Therapy (PT) license Previous inpatient hospital therapy experience preferred Knowledge of current principles and practices in physical therapy Strong documentation and organizational skills Ability to uphold ethical and professional standards Excellent communication skills with patients, families, and teams Familiarity with safety protocols and a commitment to safety-first practices
Primary Responsibilities:
Complete thorough evaluations, applying clinical reasoning to develop tailored treatment programs that promote timely, successful discharge and independent return to the community Design, implement, and modify therapy plans in accordance with professional guidelines and physician orders Accurately document all patient care activities in compliance with hospital and regulatory requirements Guide and educate patients, families, and students, ensuring clear communication and supportive learning environments Collaborate closely with nursing and therapy colleagues to resolve barriers to care and discharge planning Maintain safe practices regarding patient handling, infectious disease protocols, and environmental hazards Participate in ongoing professional development and performance improvement efforts Adhere to state and federal regulations, remaining current on licensure and required continuing education
