Physical Therapy Aide

JOB OVERVIEW

Physical therapy Tech will work under the direction and supervision of a Physical Therapist and Physical Therapist Assistants to help with clerical duties, cleaning and stocking.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent and will receive on-the-job training

Technical Skills:

Must have the ability to communicate verbally and in writing with patients, families, staff, co-workers, and providers. Must have the ability to complete forms and records.

Other qualifications/certificate/license:

Current CPR Certification;

PC Competencies:

The incumbent must learn some typing and computer skills The incumbent must demonstrate an understanding and working knowledge of the Windows environment as well as an ability to access and use information in meaningful ways. The incumbent must have the ability to access, manipulate, organize and relay information in meaningful ways using email, word processing, spreadsheets and presentation software.

Registration of patients Verify insurance Schedule appointments Answer phone and take messages for

PT/PTA/ST

Scanning/Faxing Set-up treatment areas Clean and prepare treatment areas Order linens - put away linens Order Supplies/charge stickers Clean and sanitize tools and weights used in treatment. Assists with patients in moving to or from therapy. Assist in the pre authorization process as needed. In addition to the functions described above, this role may include other responsibilities and duties as assigned on occasion, based upon DHS needs or requirements.
