Testing is being conducted for immediate open positions and to establish an Eligibility List for future anticipated hiring needs. It is the mission of the Pingree Grove Police Department to provide services with integrity and dedication, to preserve life, to enforce the law, and to work in partnership with the community to enhance the quality of life in the Village of Pingree Grove. Pingree Grove is less than an hour from downtown Chicago. It is located in northern Kane County which, in recent decades, has rapidly transitioned from agricultural area and small towns along the Fox River, into one of the nation's fastest growing suburban counties. Applicants must have attained their 21st birthday by the last date for filing applications (6/10/26). Applicants must be under the age of 35 years on 6/10/26, AND at such time as the Initial Eligibility List is posted unless exempt by State Statute 65 IL 5/10 - 2. 1-6 which provides, in part, that the age limitation does not apply to any person previously employed as a certified full-time police officer in a regularly constituted police department for a municipality in the United States.Education:
Must have proof of High School Diploma, GED Certificate or High School Proficiency Statement.Residence:

Must be able to comprehend the English language, both spoken and written.Character:
Must have no felony convictions and be of good moral character as described in State Statute 65 IL 5/10-2.1-6. Must not have committed any felony, certain misdemeanors, or crimes involving moral turpitude and be of good moral character pursuant to 50 ILCS 705/6.Driving Offenses:
Must not have been convicted for driving offenses within the last two (2) years caused by alcohol, including DUI, or two or more convictions with the last seven (7) years.POWER Card:
Must possess a valid POWER Card issued between the dates of 6/10/25 and 6/10/26 issued by certified testing agency.Testing:
