Luminous Early Childcare Learning Center is a premier full-day early learning center dedicated to providing high-quality, developmentally appropriate, and nurturing educational experiences for young children. Our mission is to support children's academic, social, and emotional growth through innovative and inclusive practices, in partnership with families and the community.Job Summary:
Manage classroom atmosphere, including nurturing children, planning class curriculum that is developmentally appropriate (physical, mental, social, emotional and cognitive), and maintaining communication with parents.Essential Job Functions:
Uses positive approaches to help children to solve problems. Arranges classroom in well-defined learning centers that are clearly labeled, clutter-free reflect children's interests and encourage independent use. Creates weekly data driven Lesson Plans that are responsive to children's individual needs, interests and developmental levels and includes all requirements. Collects observation documentation and weekly enters data into Assessment Hub GOLD. Follows all safety and health rules for the center, including all state, federal, and health and safety guidelines. Completes classroom safety checklist before children arrive each morning and documents/reports concerns immediately. Completes daily health checks. CACFP Attendance completed form daily. Completes incident reports as needed. Communicates regularly with families to build trust and share information on children's development (weekly news letters, daily reports, Class Dojo, others). Supervises children using Active Supervision strategies. Reports to work on time, maintains consistent attendance, adhering to staffing schedules and demonstrating flexibility to adjust work schedule as needed. Actively participates in meetings, planning and center-wide activities. Demonstrates the ability to develop and guide classroom teaching staff and volunteers. Understands and maintains a Primary Care giving relationship with individual children and families. Assesses each child's development and develops appropriate goals. Completes paperwork which is well-written, thorough, and completed in a timely manner. Organizes environment and appropriately cares for equipment, keeping equipment safe, clean and accessible to children. Sanitize equipment and supplies daily and weekly. Utilizes materials in a creative manner, bringing in resources to enhance the curriculum, and minimizing waste. Update Class Dojo as weekly or more frequently. Completes ITERS or ECERS and Curriculum Implementation Tool in August and February to ensure classroom maintain the highest level of quality possible. Organizes time and resources to ensure that all materials are available and ready to ensure appropriate implementation of the curriculum/lesson plan. Conducts two Parent Teacher Conference and two virtual home visits each academic term. All other duties as required.Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education OR Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education (required). Birth - 2 NYS Teacher Certification (preferred). Minimum of 2 years' of teaching experience in a preschool setting. Ability to speak in primary language of parents where applicable is preferred. Clearance of ALL background checks. A biannual physical examination and immunizations are required as condition of initial employment and continued employment.Job Type:
