Pressure Vessel Shop Supervisor Pay:
$34-$38/hrShift:
1st M-Saturday 5am-530pm Job Description This role leads a rectangular box header manufacturing team while performing hands-on welding and fabrication work. You will supervise a team of code welders, coordinate production activities, and ensure all fabrication and welding meet ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (BPVC) Section VIII and Section IX requirements. You will maintain high standards of safety, quality, and productivity while supporting a high-volume, overtime-friendly operation. Responsibilities Lead and supervise a team of pressure vessel code welders in a rectangular box header manufacturing shop. Plan, coordinate, and oversee daily production activities to meet schedule, quality, and safety targets. Perform hands-on welding and fabrication as needed, including MIG, TIG, and flux core processes. Review and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate fabrication and assembly. Ensure all welding and fabrication work complies withASME BPVC
Section VIII and Section IX requirements. Monitor and inspect weld quality, and take corrective action to address defects or nonconformances. Provide on-the-job guidance, coaching, and direction to welders and fabrication staff. Collaborate with production leadership to manage workflow, prioritize jobs, and optimize productivity. Support and enforce shop safety procedures, housekeeping standards, and proper use of equipment. Assist with troubleshooting fabrication or welding issues and implement process improvements. Coordinate with other departments as needed to ensure timely completion of customer orders. Maintain accurate documentation related to production, welding procedures, and quality requirements. Essential Skills Proven supervisory experience in a fabrication or welding shop environment. Hands-on experience with MIG, TIG, and flux core welding processes. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings. Experience working to ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (BPVC) Section VIII and Section IX requirements. Strong leadership skills with the ability to direct, coach, and motivate a team of welders. Solid understanding of fabrication processes and shop production workflows. Ability to work extended hours and support a high-overtime schedule. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in pressure vessel or heavy fabrication environments. Experience as a production supervisor or production manager in a manufacturing setting. Familiarity with quality control practices related to welding and fabrication. Work Environment This position operates in a non-climate-controlled fabrication shop environment with heavy manufacturing equipment and welding operations. The role follows a first-shift schedule, Monday through Saturday, typically from 5:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and requires openness to working 60 or more hours per week. You will work around welding, cutting, and fabrication equipment, and you should be prepared for a production-focused setting with appropriate shop attire and personal protective equipment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wagoner, OK. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $34.00 - $38.00/hr.
