Job Description
We are seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Primary Care Physician (Family Medicine or Internal Medicine) to provide high-quality outpatient primary care services at two Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs) within the
Minneapolis VA Health Care System :
the Twin Ports CBOC and the Hibbing CBOC in northern Minnesota. Physicians will provide on-site primary care services in VA outpatient clinics serving the Veteran population. This role focuses on comprehensive, longitudinal primary care in a team-based, patient-centered clinical environment with an emphasis on quality, continuity, and access to care. This position offers the opportunity to serve our nation's Veterans while working in a collaborative, mission-driven clinical setting with excellent work-life balance. Responsibilities Provide on-site outpatient primary care for adult patients Diagnose, treat, and manage acute and chronic medical conditions Perform preventive care, health screenings, and wellness visits Manage chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, and hyperlipidemia Coordinate referrals and specialty care as needed Collaborate with nursing staff and inerdisciplinary care teams Document patient care accurately in the VA electronic health record Ensure compliance with VA clinical standards, policies, and patient safety protocols Qualifications MD or DO from an accredited medical school Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine Active, unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state DEA registration (or ability to obtain) BLS certification (ACLS preferred or ability to obtain) Excellent clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills Eligible for VA credentialing and privileging Schedule & Coverage Monday-Friday, outpatient clinic schedule No nights, no weekends, no call Federal holidays observed Benefits Malpractice insurance provided Paid travel and lodging between clinic locations Predictable weekday schedule Opportunity to work in a stable, mission-focused healthcare system Why Join Us?
