Our one-school campus serves students in grades TK-8 with about two classes per grade level. We are small enough that we know each other's names but large enough to have excellent educational and enrichment opportunities for our students. Job Summary Job Summary The TK-8th Grade Principal is responsible for providing effective leadership, management, and supervision to ensure the smooth operation of the school, fostering a positive learning environment, and promoting the academic success and personal development of all students. This role requires strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of educational principles, and the ability to collaborate effectively with staff, students, parents, and community stakeholders, with a particular emphasis on inquiry-based instructional strategies and the acquisition of 21st-century learning skills. This job reports to the Superintendent and is a great opportunity for a candidate excited to start a career in school administration. Key Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:
  • Provide visionary leadership to create a culture of excellence and continuous improvement, integrating inquiry-based instructional strategies and 21st-century learning skill development.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans, policies, and procedures to support the school's mission and goals to support students in developing skills to be adaptive to change and resilient to challenges.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive school climate that demonstrates a universal design for learning that promotes student engagement, equity, and diversity.
  • Lead curriculum development, instructional practices, and assessment strategies to meet the needs of all students, with a focus on integrating inquiry-based approaches and fostering the development of 21st-century skills.
  • Provide guidance, support, and professional development opportunities to enhance staff effectiveness in inquiry-based instruction and 21st-century skill development.
  • Conduct regular evaluations and performance assessments to ensure accountability and to promote the growth of all staff and students.
  • Build strong partnerships with parents, guardians, and community members to support student success.

  • Knowledge of educational laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods; perform a variety of specialized and responsible tasks; maintain records; establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, parents, other school personnel; meet and schedule deadlines; adhere to and follow school district policies and procedures.
